We are excited to continue our Volunteer Junior Coaching Program. The purpose of this program will be to find and develop strong coaches for the future of our Swim Club. Working with our current coaching staff, our Junior Coaches will assist in practices and at meets. *** Not all Junior coaches will assist in practices. Duties can vary and might include supporting the Swim Coaches during team practices and swim meets, offering young swimmers tips to improve their swim strokes, and helping the coaches conduct these activities in a safe manner. Junior Coaches will also act in a leadership/mentoring role to foster young swimmer growth, demonstrate good sportsmanship and strengthen the sense of community among our younger Milton Mustang swimmers.

Junior Coach Requirements:

• Junior Coaches are expected to be active swimmers on the Milton Mustangs swim team.
• Junior Coaches must be rising 8th grade and Up.
• Junior Coaches must fill out an application and be accepted by the Milton Swim Team Managers and Head Coach.

During Practices:

• Assist coaches in set up and clean up of the supplies necessary for daily practice (kickboards, lane lines, etc.).
• Provide extra assistance on-deck or in the pool during practice, as requested by coaches (eg. demonstration of proper stroke technique or proper executions of a practice drill).
• Under direction from the coaches, work with an individual or small group of swimmer(s) on a specific area of weakness or skill development.
• Encourage younger swimmers to behave in an orderly and safe manner.
• Use proper Etiquette and be a role model during all Mustang events.

Swim Meets:

• Report to coaches 60 minutes prior to start of swim meet to assist in final set-up.
• Assist Bullpen parents
• Act as a role model for team spirit and support. CHEER!
• Encourage younger swimmers to behave in an orderly and safe manner.
• Clean up after meet, as needed.

Thursday/Friday Activities:

• Help Coaches with games, getting kids involved in Fun Friday
• Help Coaches and parent volunteers maintain order during all social activities.
